Dr. Karan Kalra is a highly skilled and experienced European Board-Certified Orthodontist with over 13 years of experience in dentistry, more than 10 of which have been dedicated to serving the community in Dubai. His passion for orthodontics and commitment to providing exceptional patient care have made him a leading figure in the field.
Dr. Karan is known for his forward-thinking approach, constantly evolving with the advancements in technology to offer the best possible care to his patients. His extensive training includes a Fellowship in TMJ Disorders and Orofacial Pain from the prestigious Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, USA. He has also earned a Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, further solidifying his expertise in the latest orthodontic treatments.
A graduate of the esteemed Government Dental College and Research Institute in India, Dr. Karan completed his Master's in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics with distinction. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his outstanding performance, winning numerous awards at national and international conferences for his paper presentations, scientific posters, and quiz competitions.
As a certified Invisalign Platinum Provider, Dr. Karan has successfully treated over 300 cases with Invisalign, showcasing his proficiency in this cutting-edge orthodontic treatment. He is an active member of the Invisalign study group in the UAE and regularly participates in international workshops and conferences to stay updated with the latest developments in orthodontics.
Dr. Karan's expertise extends beyond Invisalign. He is proficient in metal, ceramic, and self-ligating (DAMON) braces and has a special interest in growth modulation therapy and skeletal anchorage for accelerated orthodontic treatments. His advanced training in orthodontic biomechanics under the guidance of the late Dr. Charles Burstone, known as “The Father of Orthodontic Biomechanics,” has equipped him to handle even the most complex orthodontic cases.
Certified in laser dentistry from the British Institute of Laser Dentistry, Dr. Karan brings a comprehensive skill set to his practice. Dr Karan Kalra graduated and stepped into amazing art of dentistry!
He pursued his Master's in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from Government Dental College, Bangalore, India. During this period, he excelled academically, winning multiple awards at national orthodontic conferences.
Participated in an international hands-on workshop on the Clinical Application of Biomechanical Principles by Dr. Charles Burstone at MGM Dental College, Navi Mumbai, India.
Attended an International hands-on workshop on orthognathic surgery, “COGNATHICS,” by Dr. Urban Hagg and Dr. Lim Kwong Cheung.
Completed certification courses in Eon Aligner® and Invisalign®, marking the beginning of his specialization in aligner orthodontics. He also completed a hands-on course in Laser Dentistry from the British Institute of Laser Dentistry.
Dr. Kalra began his exclusive orthodontic practice as a Specialist Orthodontist at New Al Shefa Clinic, Jumeirah, Dubai. Here, he honed his skills in various orthodontic treatments, including Invisalign and Damon Self-ligating braces.
Continued his practice at Dr. Joy Dental Clinic, Dubai, further expanding his patient base and building a strong referral network.
Dr. Kalra is currently serving as a Specialist Orthodontist at True Smile Works, Dubai/Abu Dhabi, where he provides expert orthodontic care, including TMJ disorder management and surgical orthodontics.
Completed a residency in Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston, USA, under the mentorship of leaders in the field.
Recognized as an Invisalign Platinum provider for 2023-24, with over 300 successful Invisalign cases. Two of his cases have been featured in the Invisalign Global Gallery under the highest difficulty category.
